Lg. Blue, Black-Spined Rosette Agave Plant (agave macroacantha)

$47.99

Outstanding – Macroacantha is a very distinctive agave forming clumps nearly 2 feet tall by 5 feet wide comprised of 10 to 16 inch wide individual plants. Plant rosettes have narrow blue-gray leaves that are evenly spaced and radiate straight out from the center of the plant. The leaves have very straight margins with contrasting small dark brown teeth and an even darker 1-inch-long, extremely sharp terminal spine. Mature plants will send out 5- to 6-foot-tall, towering stalks that produce purple-tinged, green, tubular flowers.
Agaves thrive in-pots or in-ground where other plants struggle. Full sun, sandy soil, irregular watering, they’re completely comfortable in those conditions. That makes them ideal for low-water landscapes. Once established, agave asks for very little. No constant pruning, no frequent feeding, and minimal pest issues. You’re basically planting it and letting it do its thing, which is a big advantage if you don’t want high upkeep.
