Lg. Dwarf Acuminata Wild Banana Tree (musa acuminata sp)

$46.79

Musa acuminata is a fast-growing, seeded wild banana species and one of the primary ancestors of today’s cultivated bananas. Native to Southeast Asia, this species played a major role in the development of the modern edible banana through thousands of years of natural selection and domestication.
Unlike most grocery store bananas, wild Musa acuminata produces seeded fruit. Over time, selective breeding led to seedless, sweeter cultivars that are now consumed worldwide. The familiar yellow Cavendish variety found in supermarkets represents only a small fraction of the many banana types grown globally.
In the landscape, Musa acuminata is valued for its rapid growth, large tropical leaves, and bold presence. Thriving in full sun with rich, well-drained soil and regular moisture, it performs best in USDA Zones 9B to 11, bringing lush, tropical character to warm-climate gardens.
