Lg. Sky Blue Desert Agave Plant (agave temacapulinensis sp)

$47.99

A beautiful, moderately large, newly described species of Agave from Jalisco, Mexico. It forms a compact rosette of numerous, broad, stiff, pale blue leaves. Agave temacapulinensis is found only in a small area along part of the Rio Verde valley, where it grows on limestone outcrops. Leaves are coated with naturally occurring hazy blue coating called farina or “epicutiular wax” that helps reduce moisture loss while enhancing its cool-toned appearance. While still locally abundant, most of its habitat is under threat from a large dam project, and Agave temacapulinensis has thus been classified as critically endangered.
Agaves thrive in-pots or in-ground where other plants struggle. Full sun, sandy soil, irregular watering, they’re completely comfortable in those conditions. That makes them ideal for low-water landscapes. Once established, agave asks for very little. No constant pruning, no frequent feeding, and minimal pest issues. You’re basically planting it and letting it do its thing, which is a big advantage if you don’t want high upkeep.
