Lg. Sweetsop Sugarapple Tree (annona squamosa)

$45.99

Annona squamosa, Sugar Apple, is a shallow-rooted tropical tree valued for its rich, custard-sweet fruit and dependable performance in warm climates. It tolerates a wide range of soils and shows good drought tolerance once established, making it a flexible choice for home orchards.
The nearly round fruit has a thick rind with a knobby, segmented exterior that begins to separate as it fully ripens, typically around November. Inside, it reveals glistening, creamy-white flesh divided into soft, juicy segments. The flavor is reminiscent of sugary sweet custard, smooth and intensely satisfying. Each segment contains a small black seed that separates easily from the pulp.
Fruit size commonly ranges from baseball to softball, offering a generous harvest on a compact tree. Sugar Apple begins producing at just one to two years of age under warm conditions and can be maintained at a manageable height of eight to ten feet with light pruning. Its compact form, early fruiting habit, and richly sweet flavor make it an outstanding addition to tropical and subtropical edible landscapes. USDA Zones 10–12
